Poem of the Day - My Own Design

My Own Design by A.S. Washington

Will I succumb to hatred?
Regret the choices of mind,
Is heart's desire not the same?
There is no reset or rewind,
Only the gift in moving forward,
Allowable it is to change path,
Though the effect might be catastrophic,
No one can change the past,
I must accept my decisions,
Abstain from the anger that wells,
If I am it, how then can authority rebel?
I am the master of my sphere,
Then I guess I'll change its mold,
I'll shiver and chatter,
As I brave this cold,
Cold, cold world,
Of my own design,
I am the cancer,
Though so benign.
