Poem of the Day - Rain

Rain by A.S. Washington

Soft, wet, kind and menacing,
Lifting my spirits, within the gloom,
White clouds, sunshine, you're diminishing,
Would you not stay with me, under the moon,
So many of them loathe your presence,
I have nothing but words of affection,
Against my window you rap with benevolence,
Helping me through my quiet reflections,
Worry not of their infernos of malice,
God has made you for lovers to know,
Of you, we have filled every chalice,
And without you, no flowers could grow,
My heart beats, coursing blood through my veins,
Remaining refreshed, by the pouring of rain.
