Thumbs Down To The NFL Mobile App

Anyone who knows me well, who is a football fan, knows that I am San Francisco 49ers fan to the core. Anyone who knows me, knows that I live in New Jersey, and unless we're playing on Thursday, Sunday, or Monday Night Football, most likely the 49ers wont be aired on in my area. Thus, being a huge NFL fan, I want to find any possible way I can watch my boys in the scarlet and gold uniforms.

Last year, I was dragged to a wedding I didn't want to go to, and my 49ers were playing. I'd always heard about NFL Mobile being exclusive to Verizon Wireless customers. I'd heard that you could watch games live on your cellular device while on the go. Perfect I think. So I download the app, link it to my account and voila. I'm watching the 49ers on my Apple iPhone. I'm happy. It's the only game I actually watched the entire year on mobile since the season was almost over, but it was worth it. I danced and watched the game. I ate cheesecake and watched the game. I went to the bathroom and watched the game.

Today, I said to myself, let me watch my 49ers on NFL Mobile again. We've been featured a lot this year, so I've seen most of the games. I download the new version of the app. I link my account again. I get to the "watch live," button for my team's game and when I click it, I see the Seattle Seahawks and I'm shocked. Why would a 49ers fan ever watch the Seattle Seahawks unless we're playing them. The first obvious reasons of course is that I'm not a fan and our game's on at the same time. Secondly, they kicked our butts the last two times we've played them LOL! I don't want to even look at their uniforms. That damned green and blue uniform makes me want to vomit.

I wrote a review for the app and gave the awesome NFL a 1 star review. For starters, I am already subscribed

to NFL Network and NFL Redzone (which is the watch live feature this year instead of my team's game) from my cable provider. Secondly, NFL.com already gives me up to the minute drive information and highlights. So on the go, I am good with quick score updates and any highlights that I'd like to watch. Not to mention the plethora of other sports outlets like ESPN that feature scores and highlights on their websites and mobile apps. I can't believe that the NFL took the one feature that made it worth paying $5 a month for the premium perks on NFL Mobile out of the app. Whoever made that decision should be fired or suspended without pay. It's unintelligent. I'm not going to pay twice for the same services I already pay for. And since I'd rather watch NFL Redzone on my television and get the same highlights on NFL.com or ESPN, looks like I'm unsubscribing to NFL Mobile unless they switch back to allowing me to watch the entire game that I want to watch. 49ers games.

At first I was shocked to see a cumulative review score of 2 and a half stars for an app that allowed you to stream live games to your phone of the team you wanted to watch. I swore that it must have been for lag and buffering. But it's not just that. It's a warranted 2 and a half stars that should really be 1 star, since there is still lag for some (you might want to update your mobile device, I didn't experience lag or buffering issues) and no ability to watch "your game." Shame on you NFL. Today is a sad day. I don't want to pay $5 a month to watch pieces of my team's game. I want to watch the entire game. Perhaps I'll be switching to DirecTV for NFL Sunday Ticket. Just for the NFL season. Who knows.

  1. The determine that goes in their advantage is that protect for a hole day beat down by the Broncos, the Parrots have losing their other 5 actions by stream nfl games aspects or less. By staying competitive down to the wire, they will have the possiblility to get actions away from opponents,
