Poem of the Day - I Wonder Of Days To Come

I Wonder Of Days To Come by A.S. Washington

I wonder of days to come,
Of days filled with cheer,
Standing upon the stages,
Many days out of the year,
I wonder of days to come,
With my legend being told,
Huddled around the fires,
Families sheltered from the cold,
I wonder of days to come,
Many pages of my mind,
Adored by the masses,
As I lay upon my spine,
I wonder of days to come,
Looking back upon my life,
Hoping I made the best effort,
Though they all may not be right,
I wonder of days to come,
Will I have the peace of quiet?
Sitting upon my hind,
No worries of a riot,
I wonder of days to come,
When my fears are all but gone,
And I'm trusting all who walk,
To not steal from me a song,
I wonder of days to come,
With rows and rows of books,
Written by my hand,
And all shall want to look,
I wonder of days to come,
When fervor is no more,
As I wake and do not write,
At the precipice of storms.
